Valerie Jean Crabtree

Valerie Jean Crabtree, 80, passed away June 30, 2026, in Libby, Montana.

Valerie was born April 17, 1946, in Spokane, Washington to Kenneth and Laura Endicott. She married Dean Crabtree in Libby, Montana, Sept. 18, 1959.

Valerie received her degree in education at Eastern Washington State College. She started teaching first grade in Spokane, Washington. She also taught third grade in Libby for two years.  

She went on to become the secretary of the Assembly of God Church and also became the treasurer during her time at the church. She was active in the Republican Club, Nordicfest and Gideon International (43 years) in Libby. She took care of the bookwork for Crabtree Construction as well.  

In her teen years she worked at the Libby Creamery Office.

Valerie never sought recognition or credit when serving, but would serve when a need was presented that she felt was worthwhile. She was very focused and methodical. Her organizational skills were excellent and were appreciated by the recipients of them.  

Valerie loved the Lord and her life reflected that. The best accolade she could receive would be "Well done good and faithful Servant."

She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Laura Endicott and a sister Kathy Endicott Verbonecure.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Dean Crabtree, daughter Deanna Sauve, Spokane, Washington; son Darin Crabtree, Lake Oswego, Oregon; brother Steve Endicott and grandchildren Travis Sauve, Violet Crabtree and Esther Crabtree.

Valerie's memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Assembly of God Church, 105 Collins Avenue, Libby.
