Agliano helps Mariners split 2 with Bandits

CRANBROOK, British Columbia — Cole Wadsworth and Holden Emerson had three hits each and Noah Agliano drove in three runs as Mission Valley beat the Cranbrook Bandits 7-4 to earn a split of their A Legion doubleheader Saturday. 

Cranbrook won the opener 8-4. 

Cody Haggard’s RBI double gave the Mariners (16-13) the lead for good, 2-1, in the third inning and Agliano hit a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning and a two-run double to cap a four-run sixth. That made it 7-1.  

Jake Hsiser went the distance on the mound, allowing six hits and zero earned runs in seven innings. He fanned four. Wadswroth and Emerson each hit doubles and both scored twice. 

In the first game, the Bandits (21-11) were up 8-0 — by then Ty Dupley had driven in three runs — before the Mariners scored four times in the seventh. 

Agliano again had the big hit: A three-run home run. Haggard had an RBI single earlier in the frame.
