Janna Marie Clark-Weldele, 70, passed away surrounded by love on Wednesday, July 8. Her beloved husband of 52 years, Mitch, was by her side at the time of her passing.

Janna was born on June 11, 1956, in Billings, Montana, to James and Barbara Clark. She joined her older sister, Jami, and later grew up alongside her sisters Jami, Marri, and Julie. Her father was her best friend, and she cherished the time she spent by his side until his passing in 1968. Janna's childhood was filled with adventure, playing outside from morning until dark, riding bikes with her sisters and neighborhood friends, and caring for the horses she loved so dearly.

Animals held a special place in Janna's heart throughout her life. As a young woman, she was an active member of the Billings Saddle Club and enjoyed barrel racing, earning many medals and trophies, including the National O-Mok-See Rescue Race. She loved and cared for her horses—Hurricane, Comanche, Frosty, and Pal—as well as her beloved cat, Mama Kitty.

Later in life, Janna found great joy in the wildlife that visited her home. She delighted in watching the deer rest beneath the shade of her apple trees and graze from their branches, and she never tired of the hummingbirds that buzzed past her kitchen windows. She also adored her cherished Chihuahuas, who brought her endless companionship.

Janna was an avid reader with an insatiable curiosity. There wasn't a book she wouldn't read, and she always seemed to have the perfect recommendation for any topic of conversation. Historical fiction and mysteries were among her favorite genres, but she simply loved a good story. Her favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz, and her home proudly reflected that love with a treasured collection of memorabilia and decorations inspired by the classic film.

On February 9, 1974, Janna married the love of her life, Mitch. Together they built a beautiful life and raised four daughters: Aubrey, Amber, Angela, and Alison. Her greatest joy was her family, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Janna was preceded in death by her father, James Clark, mother Barbara Armstrong, stepfather Butch Armstrong, and her beloved daughter, Angela Weldele.

She survived by her husband, Mitch; her daughters, Aubrey (Craig), Amber (Dan), and Alison (Tommy); her grandchildren, Kyle, Kalli, Karli, Joey, Logan, Jalen, Elennah, Zhoe, Landree, Alexis and Evalena; and her great-grandchildren, Everly, Atlas, Nora, and Jovie. She is also survived by her sisters, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness and love.

Janna will be remembered for her empathetic nature, passion for reading, quick wit, sense of humor and we can't forget her huckleberry pies and cheesecakes. Her warmth, quiet strength, and generous spirit will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at her home on Wednesday, July 15, at 3:00 p.m. at the family home in Whitefish (655 West Ninth Street).
