Letters to the editor July 13
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 3 months, 3 weeks AGO
Fourth is over
To all you people who continue to light your bombs off a week after July 4, you are very inconsiderate of others around you; animals and veteran’s alike, including many who have issues with explosions.
Animals have no idea what is happening. All they know is to run, hide, shake all night long. I believe it is very selfish and demeaning to our Fourth of July celebration. Think about other people and animals, that totally freak out. Its not all about you. Have some consideration and respect for others, rather than your own selfish selves.

Courteous driving
In reading the letter to editor by Shelley Isaak, I commend her for her observance of some cyclists that do not know the rules of the road. There were great examples in the letter.
What Shelley refused to acknowledge was that motorists need to show respect to cyclists. If a cyclist is riding on a bike path and comes to an intersection, the cyclist has the right away just as a pedestrian. A cyclist has to yield to the pedestrian. The motorist yields to the cyclist.
I do not have enough digits on my hands to count how many motorists ignore cyclists at bike path intersections. Motorists always want to be the first to turn, not letting the cyclist to cross first. When the sign shows walk, motorists must stop. Do not stop halfway into the crosswalk. That is extremely dangerous for the cyclist. We are forced outside of the cross walk. Get off your phone. Leave home early so you are not rushing to your destination. We can all work together and enjoy our valley together.
Both sides need to be courteous.
