Terry McCoy, 86

Terry "TJ" Joe McCoy, 86, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., passed away July 8, 2026. He was born Aug. 8, 1939, in Kellogg, Idaho, to William McCoy and Sarah McCoy. 

TJ spent his working career with the Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 2003. He was then able to follow his passion full-time: golf. He loved living in Hot Springs Village and its beautiful countryside. He had done his moving about this country during his career years and traveled in recent years around our beautiful nation, but his heart was still with the Idaho mountains, to which he will return.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, William McCoy; mother Sarah McCoy; and brother Ronnie McCoy.

Survivors include his sister, Dawn Flanary of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; niece Tracy Pippins of Graham, Texas; nephew Ron Flanary of Miami, Fla.; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mt. Carmel Community, and especially to the caregivers during his final 2 months, for the kindness and understanding care given during his final steps in TJ's Earthly Journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
