Guest opinion: Not hard to do small things

Our trails and paths are amazing. Often, we're on the path that follows East Lakeshore out past Big Mountain Road. Along the way we see stuff on the road and the path, and we pick it up. Some of it flies off the trucks and trailers. Some of it falls off bikers and hikers. Bummer, but it's gonna happen.

Some of it seems to be discarded intentionally; makes us wish we were there when it happened to let them know they just dropped their water bottle, clear plastic cocktail cup, cigarette butt, red solo cup, etc. Maybe then they wouldn't do it again.

Then there are the folks who go to the trouble to bag their dog waste but then drop the bag on a path. Whole different category. I figured maybe I was missing something, so I looked up the biodegradable time frame. Not a good option. I also considered the possibility that there was just a delay in the pick up. Turns out to be a long delay.

This note may read like a grouchy (occasional) old man (more frequent); however, we are lucky to be here in this special part of the planet. It is not hard to do small things to keep it special.
