Police Calls: Large boomer fireworks begin three days early

June 30 

A boat approximately 1,000 feet out on the lake experienced an electrical fire, rendering it inoperable. Whitefish command extinguished the fire.

Reportedly, drug paraphernalia was found in a recently sold house. 

Police assisted the caller who locked her keys in a vehicle along with her dog and her phone. 

A smaller, yellow dog with a collar was running in traffic on Baker Avenue.  

It was thought to be suspicious that a potentially intoxicated man was talking to someone while four youth on bikes were yelling at 2 a.m. 

July 1 

The small dog running in traffic yesterday was reunited with his owner. 

A VW Bug was parked in a parking lot at a location on Highway 93 for over a week. 

Reportedly, an employee stole cash from the register. 

Suspected drugs were found at a location on Blackberry Loop. 

A truck pulling a bulldozer was seen going 40 mph in a 25-mph zone. 

A truck was blocking the caller’s driveway on Skyles Place. 

An employee of a business complained about someone not picking up after their dog near the business. 

The driver of a dark grey 4 Runner was seen swerving, hitting a guardrail and making a U-turn in the grass. 

Someone on Greenwood Drive reported hearing "large boomer fireworks" and he was advised not to go check it out himself. 

The driver of a post office-type vehicle was seen passing people on Big Mountain Road and making a U-turn in the middle of the road. 

An intoxicated male with a cane refused to leave a location on Highway 93. 

A dog was brought to the police department kennel and soon after, the owner picked up the dog. 

People on Houston Drive were lighting fireworks for over 20 minutes. 

Someone found a dog on Dugans Way and said they’d keep it until morning. 

The owner of a white Ford camper van had problems with his vehicle’s alarm going off every day.
