Shirley Ann Barnes, 90
Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 2 hours, 2 minutes AGO
Shirley Ann Barnes, 90, danced her way into heaven on June 29. She married young and had 2 children. She found love later in life with Don. Shirley Ann always celebrated the joys of life; dancing, playing cards, dressing up for holiday events, and sitting on Santa’s lap well into her 80s. She had a great heart for all, befriending everyone.
Shirley Ann was a great believer in education, going back to college in her 60s to earn an associate’s degree. She was always reading. Curiosity should have been her middle name. Careful where you sat when you would visit, there was sure to be a stack of books.
She is survived by her good friends Mara, Joe and family; her sister from another mother, Louann; her church family at Kalispell Center for Spiritual Living; and her children, Cynthia and Anthony and their families. Shirley Ann was a long-time member of Eastern Star and the Moose.
Thanks for the kindness and friendship of staff and friends at Timber Creek Village. Thanks to Dr. Brandeberry at Glacier Medical Associates for his loving care. Thanks to the members and staff of the Columbia Falls Community Center for the games, music, food and fun with cards that enriched her life.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 18 at 11 a.m. at the Kalispell Center for Spiritual Living. Donations in Shirley Ann’s honor may be made to the Columbia Falls Community Center.
Her last words were “Life is not a life until you get involved with Jesus”. She is at peace with her Lord Jesus.
