It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Angel Jr. Peña Barajas, on July 9, 2026, at the age of 34. He was born in Santa Rosa, California, and lived in Moses Lake for more than 30 years.

Angel was a devoted family man whose love for his family guided his life. He owned and operated a landscaping business and took great pride in his work. Intelligent and highly skilled, he could repair and build almost anything. He was always ready to help others and consistently put their needs before his own.

Angel Jr. was proud to have earned his GED through Big Bend Community College before receiving his Barber Degree from Char-Glo School of Beauty, reflecting his drive and determination to keep learning and growing.

He loved low riders and classic cars and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Angel especially cherished Friday nights under the lights, cheering on his son Jeremiah Peña as he played football for the Moses Lake Mavs. He also treasured hot summer days working side by side with Adrian and Jeremiah in the family business. Cataleya was the apple of his eye, and he loved being around her. Angel and Ashley Castro shared an unbreakable bond. He was her protector, always drawn to her love. Together they raised three beautiful children. Always known for his warm sense of humor, bright smile and positive outlook, Angel touched everyone who knew him with his kindness, generosity, and spirit.

Above all, Angel was a loving son, devoted brother, caring partner and proud father. He will be remembered for his devotion to family, his selflessness, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Angel Jr. was welcomed into eternal rest by his father Angel Peña Hernandez. He leaves behind his loving mother Ramona Peña; his siblings Juan and Carmelita Peña, Noe Peña, Lorena Peña, Eduardo Peña and Trino and Jessica Peña; his longtime partner and the mother of his children Ashley Castro; and his beloved children Adrian Ortiz, Jeremiah Peña, and Cataleya Peña. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews who adored their Tío, as well as extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Although Angel’s time with us was far too short, the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his smile, laughter, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on Thursday, July 23, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Pioneer Memorial Services, 14403 Road 2 NE, Moses Lake, Washington.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, July 24, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Angel will be laid to rest at Guarding Angels Cemetery.

Following the funeral services, family and friends are invited to gather at the Fatima Center for a luncheon to celebrate the life of Angel Jr. Peña Barajas.
