A motorist with a shotgun or rifle riding, well, shotgun earned the ire of fellow drivers near Whitefish. Several callers told the authorities that the driver of a beat-up gray passenger car, possibly an Oldsmobile, was driving erratically while yelling and screaming at other motorists.
Later on, a pedestrian told the Whitefish Police Department that they had come across a two-door Pontiac Grand Prix GT parked behind a fast casual sub shop. The woman said she could see a shotgun propped up inside the vehicle.
The owner of a maintenance shop told the police that it appeared as though someone had tried to break into the facility. They found the door kicked in and a lamp post knocked onto the ground. Still, it didn't appear as though anything was missing.
A property owner asked police officers to address a homeless man who was sleeping on their land. Officers warned the interloper about trespassing and shepherded them off the property.
After getting hacked, the owner of a business on Farm to Market Road worried that they had become the victim of fraud.
Concerned about a man in a tube or perhaps an inflatable swan floating in the middle of the lake, a caller asked the police to check in on him. They described the man as wearing a hat or perhaps a sombrero. Eventually, though, the man got into a pontoon boat.
Extra patrols were mounted near City Beach.
Unable to take no for an answer, a would-be patron called the police after getting refused service at a Central Avenue business. The caller told dispatchers that the owner had assured him he could stop by for a drink but kicked him out when he arrived. Dispatchers tried to explain that a businessowner has the right to refuse service for any reason, but to no avail.
Annoyed at having to step over a homeless man's belongings on the sidewalk in downtown Whitefish, a pedestrian asked the police to get the impoverished man out of sight.
