AA Lakers start series with Bucks with a win

BOZEMAN -- Liam Rech was masterful for seven innings, Tait Orme drove in two runs and the Kalispell AA Lakers scored a big 6-2 win over Bozeman Friday in Montana/Alberta Legion baseball action Friday.

Both teams had four hits but Rech repeatedly got out of trouble, working around five walks and two batters and allowing just one earned run. He struck out six. 

His opposite number, Cody Smith, allowed just one walk and hit one batter and struck out nine, but seven Bozeman errors undid his efforts. 

Orme's RBI double put the Lakers ahead 2-1 in the top of the third and the Bucks never caught up: Three Bozeman errors helped Kalispell score three times in the fourth.  

Miles Arrowsmith added an RBI single in the fifth for the Lakers (13-14 overall, 6-13 in league).  

The Lakers have two more games against the Bucks (8-1) in league) on Saturday.
