AA Lakers take series finale from Senators

HELENA — Brady Buckmaster’s one-out RBI double broke a 4-4 tie in the seventh inning, and the Kalispell Lakers added a second run to beat Helena 6-4 in AA Legion baseball Sunday.
Buckmaster, who came on to catch in the third inning, drove in Myles Arrowsmith with his double. Buckmaster’s courtesy runner, Dillon Wink, stole third and came in when the throw got away, making it 6-4.
The win snapped Helena’s five-game win streak and gave the Lakers (14-16 overall, 7-15 in the AA standings) some momentum going back to Bozeman for a doubleheader Monday. That will cap the regular-season and end a brutal stretch of six games in four days (and nine in six days).
The Senators (44-17, 13-11), who swept a twin bill from Kalispell on Saturday, led this one 3-0 when Finn Doran scored in the second inning.
A Hunter Fann RBI double — he had two doubles — and a squeeze bunt from Myles Arrowsmith helped the Lakers draw even, 3-3, in the top of the third.
Grant Bahnmiller’s RBI single in the Senators’ half of the third made it 4-3, but Kalispell again drew even on Arrowsmith's base hit that scored Tate Orme, who’d also singled.
Kyler Croft pitched into the seventh inning but gave away to Arrowsmith with one out. Arrowsmith walked a pair of Senators before George Schwan came on and closed things out.
