Idaho District 1 Little League baseball tournaments: Post Falls 12U, Coeur d'Alene 11U advance to state playoffs

12U 

Everett Tsuji lined a two-run double to left-center field with nobody out in the bottom of the sixth inning to cap a comeback as Post Falls defeated Hayden 8-7 to win the 12U District 1 championship Saturday at Croffoot Park in Hayden. 

Post Falls will play the District 2 (Boise area) champion in a best-of-3 series for the state title next Friday through Sunday at Croffoot Park.

Tsuji's game-winning hit scored Kylar Nelson, who led off with a double, and Gus Senko, who followed with a single. 

Hayden, needing to beat Post Falls twice for the district title, jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first, highlighted by a two-run homer by Fenix Field. 

Post Falls got two back in the bottom half on a two-run single by Finn Kinsel. 

In the third, Brayden Drapeau singled in a run and Kinsel drew a bases-loaded walk, pulling Post Falls within 6-4. 

Liam Neglio's RBI single boosted Hayden's lead to 7-4 in the fourth. 

Griffin Wilson singled in a run in the fifth to bring Post Falls within 7-6. 

Branson Leandro and Senko combined for eight strikeouts for Post Falls. 

Earlier Saturday, Hayden scratched out a run in the top of the sixth and beat Coeur d'Alene Black 1-0 in a loser-out game.  

Zane Armstrong walked and eventually scored on a passed ball for Hayden. Isaiah Thompson struck out five and allowed no hits, and Curry Felt V struck out six and allowed one hit. 

Quentin Wilburn pitched a complete-game no-hitter for Coeur d'Alene, striking out 13 and allowing just three baserunners in the game. 


11U 

Coeur d'Alene defeated Post Falls 9-2 at Croffoot Park to win the district title and advance to best-of-3 state playoffs next Friday through Sunday at Croffoot Park against the District 2 champion. 

Tripp McLeod hit a three-run triple for Coeur d'Alene. 


10U 

Coeur d'Alene Black defeated Hayden 22-4 in a loser-out game at Croffoot Park. 

Graham Kreider went 4 for 5 with five RBIs, and Jaxson Messerly was 2 for 2 and drove in four four Coeur d'Alene Black. 

Kellen McLemore was 2 for 2 with an RBI for Hayden. 

Coeur d'Alene Black will play Lewiston White in the championship game today at 9 a.m. at Airport Park in Lewiston. Coeur d'Alene needs to win twice to advance. 


STATE 

Games begin Friday at Croffoot Park, with the 10U Game 1 at 4 p.m. and the 11U and 12U (Little League) openers at 6. 

On Saturday, the 10U Game 2 is at 10 a.m., and the 11U and 12U games are at 1 p.m. 

Times for Sunday's if-necessary Game 3s are TBA.
