LEWISTON – Ethan Pecor hit a two-run walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Northern Lakes Mountaineers rallied from an 11-3 deficit to beat the Lewis-Clark Cubs 13-12 in the Class A Area A championship game at Harris Field on Sunday.
Northern Lakes (25-6) scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, then scored four in the seventh, capped by Pecor’s single to score Jake Larcher and Grant Rigler for the win.
Both Pecor and Larcher finished with three RBIs each for Northern Lakes, which opens the state tournament against the third-place team from Area C (Thursday at Rodeo Park in Nampa.
Lewis-Clark (21-14-1), which also advanced to state, faces the host Nampa Braves.

at Moses Lake Finale
MOSES LAKE, Wash. – Alec Finn drew a bases loaded walk with one out in the bottom of the sixth Isaiah Kearney with the go-ahead run as the Cardinals defeated the Maltby Redhawks 8-7 to finish 5-0 in the Moses Lake Finale at Big Bend Community College.
James Morast hit a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning to give Prairie a 5-1 lead.
Earlier, Morast allowed four hits over five shutout innings, striking out seven for the Cardinals in an 8-0 win over the River City (Green).
Alec Finn and Logan Storrer had three RBIs each for Prairie (16-13-1), which competes in the state Class AA tournament starting Thursday at Harris Field in Lewiston.
