Mustangs complete Saturday sweep of Range Riders

BILLINGS — After a weather delay pushed back the nightcap of a doubleheader, the Billings Mustangs defeated the Glacier Range Riders 14-3 in Pioneer League baseball late Saturday evening.
The Mustangs (41-11, 5-0 in the second half) used a five-run second inning to set the pace early. Sean Lynch doubled to score Adam Cootway and John McHenry followed with a single to score Nin Burns II and Lynch. Michael Soper followed the big start with a two-run homer.
Glacier (29-24, 0-5) answered with three runs in the third as Joe McLaughlin drove in Andrew Collins before Brock Vradenburg’s two-run single cut the deficit to 5-3.
After Billings added three more runs in the bottom half, Jacob Gutierrez smacked a solo homer in the fourth to push the lead to 10-3.
The Range Riders were out hit 13-6 and suffered two errors.
