Agnes (Aggie) Marie Kemp

On July 11, 2026, Agnes (Aggie) Marie Kemp went to join her husband Bill and her Lord Jesus Christ; leaving behind her two children, Annie and Willy; her two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Lucas; her goddaughters Carol Weiler and Veronica Gieser; brothers and sisters; innumerable nieces and nephews; friends; and past students. 

Born and educated in North Dakota, Aggie moved to Libby, Montana to be in the mountains. She taught in Libby Public Schools for 20 years and helped many students achieve a good education. The mother of a past student said Aggie had faith in students that other teachers had lost faith in. 

Aggie also got a standing ovation as the graduation speaker one year. Aggie was an avid hunter (shooting her own moose), an avid fisherman and loved to travel. After her husband Bill’s death, she took up more sewing, creating thousands of pillowcases. 

Aggie was involved with Wings, served as an election volunteer, was on the Board for Achievements and the Fisher River Volunteer Fire Department, including helping with the annual fishing derby, and was involved with the Elks Club and Igniters. 

Aggie’s positive, friendly and generous approach to life will be missed by Libby and the Happy’s Inn community, but her impact through her teaching and her friendships will last. Bingo nights at Happy’s Inn will never be the same without her. 

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Libby at 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2026.
