On Wednesday, July 28 at 7:30 p.m., John Stowell will perform in the Stack Recital Hall at North Valley Music School, showcasing his remarkable music alongside local guitarist Ben Darce.
Stowell is an internationally touring jazz guitarist and educator based in Portland, Oregon. His live performances and 23 albums showcase an eclectic, original style influenced as much by pianists and horn players as by fellow guitarists. His distinctive approach to harmony, chords and improvisation sets him apart, leading the Los Angeles Times to describe him as "transcending the label of jazz guitarist."
