Whitefish Theatre Company hosts adult audition workshop

The Whitefish Theatre Company is inviting adults of all experience levels to discover the excitement of acting at its Adult Summer Audition Workshop, a fun and supportive opportunity to build confidence, sharpen audition skills, and take the next step on stage.  

Whether a seasoned performer looking to refine your technique or someone who's always wanted to audition but never knew where to start, this workshop is designed to help participants grow in a welcoming, encouraging environment. The workshops are on Aug.1 and 2 from noon - 3 p.m. 

Led by director and audition coach Jake Carr, the three-hour workshop combines practical audition techniques with hands-on scene work and individualized coaching. Participants will explore cold readings, character choices, scene partner connection, audition etiquette, and how to confidently take direction in the room.  

Carr earned degrees in Theatre and Psychology from Miami University of Ohio before working professionally as an actor and acting instructor in Chicago. Since moving to the Flathead Valley, he has directed Whitefish Theatre Company productions including "Church and State," "Silent Sky," "Holmes for the Holidays," and "Wait Until Dark."
