A Bigfork man died in a crash just north of Finley Point earlier this month after he went off the right side of the road, striking a delineator post. He then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go down a steep embankment and overturn multiple times.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol crash report, speed was a suspected factor in this July 7 crash.
The 71-year-old man was driving a Ford Explorer in the northbound lane at around 1 p.m. on U.S. Highway 35.
The Bigfork man was wearing a seatbelt and died at the crash scene. According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the road conditions were bare and dry at the time of the crash.
