Flathead Land Trust hosts The Land Affair benefit at historic Bigfork ranch

Flathead Land Trust hosts its annual benefit, The Land Affair, at The Farm Montana (Wrangler Springs Ranch) on July 30. 

Flathead Land Trust's signature event brings together community members, landowners and conservation supporters to sustain the scenic, agriculturally productive lands, wildlife corridors, outdoor recreational opportunities and clean water that define the Flathead Valley. Proceeds from the event fund Flathead Land Trust’s community-based conservation projects across northwest Montana. 

The event will be held in a refurbished 1905 historic barn set on a 500-acre working ranch that is home to the Paladin Conservancy, a nonprofit formed by Doug Averill to teach Western skills to youth through farming and ranching activities. 

The benefit will feature live music by Radio Ranch, a band that blends the storytelling of Americana, the rebellion of outlaw country and the spirit of rock 'n' roll. Local caterer Forage will serve a locally sourced barbecue spread with vegetarian selections. Local beer, wine and nonalcoholic refreshments will also be served. 

Attendees may enter a raffle featuring a selection of packages with regional specialties and premier outdoor experiences, which may be viewed at flatheadlandtrust.org. Attendees can bid on unique Montana getaways, outdoor gear and regional goods. Evening festivities will culminate with a "Live Drive" paddle raise, where people can increase their impact, thanks to a generous $5,000 matching challenge offered by an anonymous donor. Proceeds benefit local land and water conservation and recreation initiatives.
