"Onward ye people, strive for the light …" (Jn Sibelius, lyric)
Light case by Freedom's Torch
reflects off Liberty's cracked bell
to fade 250-plus years later …
Blot out by squalid dark clouds
of idealistic abandonment, greed
and subtle subversion of power;
Towering above a gloomy ephemeral fog
that conceals these self-evident truths:
Life, liberty & pursuit of happiness.
Humankinds awaits the firey light of sunrise,
life-giving beams piercing the gloom
and darkness of night
proclaiming the dawn of a new era.
