Nicole Bunker, 55

Nicole Christine Bunker, 55, was a woman of unwavering strength, fierce loyalty, and a heart that never stopped giving. Her family was her greatest purpose, and she dedicated her life to ensuring those she loved always felt safe, supported, and deeply cherished.

She had a remarkable ability to make people feel like they belonged, whether they were family or someone who simply needed a place to land. All were welcome at her table; whether you needed a warm meal, a listening ear, or simply someone to believe in you. Her home was more than a house; it was a refuge of warmth, good conversation, and the comforting knowledge that you were never alone.

Generosity came naturally to Nicole because loving her people was simply who she was; she celebrated their successes, carried their burdens when they were too heavy, and stepped in whenever someone needed help. Her kindness was woven into the fabric of her everyday life. She quietly put the needs of others before her own, never asking for recognition or expecting anything in return. 

To her family, she was a safe place and a constant they could always count on. She was the heartbeat of the family; steady and dependable. The voice of encouragement after disappointment, the safe place to return to again and again, and the example of unconditional love. She could be both tender and tough in the same breath. She was a protector and an advocate. The values she lived; kindness, loyalty, honesty, hard work, and devotion to family are now part of the legacy she leaves behind in each and every life that she touched.

Her absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully express. Nicole’s life will continue to be felt in countless ways; family traditions that carry on, lessons passed from one generation to the next, and every moment someone chooses compassion because she once showed it to them. The measure of a life is not found in years lived but in lives touched, and Nicole touched more hearts than she likely ever realized.  

Nicole passed away January 31, guided by her mother, aunts, and children's father. Her service will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Columbia Falls on July 31 at 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of life to follow at her home.
