A Kalispell woman who allegedly drove home drunk from Foys Lake with three children in her vehicle last month is facing multiple charges in Flathead County District Court.  

Prosecutors filed a felony charge of criminal child endangerment and misdemeanor count of resisting arrest against 43-year-old Genevieve Helen Gorog following her June 19 run-in with the Kalispell Police Department. She pleaded not guilty at her July 16 arraignment before Judge Dan Wilson.  

A bystander alerted the authorities to Gorog's alleged impairment after noticing her stumbling around the Foys Lake docks about 8:49 p.m. The onlooker approached her after noticing she had three children inside her Kia Sorento and offered to give them a ride home, according to court documents. She had allegedly admitted to downing "just five" drinks that day, court documents said. 

As the man turned back to loading his boat, Gorog got into the Kia and drove off, he later told the authorities.  

A police officer found Gorog's Kia heading north on South Meridian Road and pulled it over on the 1000 block of Fourth Street West. As the officer approached the SUV, Gorog allegedly drove down an alley and pulled into the driveway behind her home.  

The officer followed and told Gorog to exit and put her hands behind her back, court documents said. Allegedly refusing to get out, Gorog argued that law enforcement could not initiate a traffic stop in her driveway and said she would call her lawyer. 

Gorog exited after the officer began pulling on her arm, court documents said. 

But when the officer tried to put her in handcuffs, she allegedly yanked her right arm away. In response, the officer used a leg sweep to put her on the ground, where she continued to struggle, according to court documents. 

A second officer arrived to conduct a driving under the influence investigation. They described Gorog as smelling of an alcoholic beverage. They also reported spotting a container for a premade cocktail brand in the center console of the Kia and an empty wine container in the back seat, according to court documents.  

After Gorog allegedly refused to participate in sobriety testing, investigators obtained a warrant for a blood draw, which was sent to the Montana State Crime Lab for testing. 

Gorog is expected back in court on Nov. 10 for a pretrial conference. If convicted of the felony charge, she faces up to 10 years behind bars and a $50,000 fine.
