Dorothy Nada Peterson

Dorothy Nada Peterson was born in Butte, Montana, to Andrew Peterson and Ada Waller Peterson on July 18, 1927.
She was adopted from the Twin Bridges Home by Morris and Margaret Davis. A brother, Kenneth, was adopted a year or two later. She grew up in the McGinnis Meadows area.
She married Harvey Dale Davis on Christmas Day in 1947. They had a son, Kenneth Earl in 1948 but he died three days later. She and Harvey had another son, Clyde, in 1949. She moved back to McGinnis Meadows with her parents, and she received a divorce from Harvey the following year.
She married Harold Peterson in July 1958. Shortly thereafter, they moved to the house behind the MK Steakhouse, owned then by Buck Lewis.
She and Harold had four sons: James (Jim), Dale, Ray and Philip. She worked for Buck Lewis, then Lee and Virginia Towne, then Bert and Mazie Robinson, and maybe some for Liz Benefield; doing kitchen help, cleaning, and other things they requested until she was in her 80s.
Harold passed away in October 1972, shortly before Clyde came home from Vietnam. She never remarried.
Dorothy was a tireless worker, raising her four young sons to manhood. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ - Latter day Saints here in Libby and worked with the church in the genealogy section.
Since being told by the doctor she could live to be 100 and finding out her birth mother lived to be 100, she had a goal in mind. She almost made it! She died three days before her 99th birthday!
She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, Harvey and Harold; her brother, Kenneth; and sons, Kenneth, Jim, Dale, and Philip.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Clyde (Sharon) Davis and Ray (Paula) Peterson; five granddaughters; four grandsons; four great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held later in the year.
