Michael (Mike) Typie Weaver

On July 20, 2026, Michael (Mike) Typie Weaver finished his time on earth as a kind man who always took time to befriend others and reach out a helping hand to those in need. He was known for his generosity, sense of humor and for making the best of things in tough situations,

Mike was born on July 20, 1946, in Detroit Michigan. One of his goals was to make it to 80 years old, and he met Jesus face to face exactly 80 years after he was born. He was born to Alexander and Delores (Nichols) Weaver. In 1951 his family moved to Brainerd, Minnesota. Mike started first grade in a little one-room schoolhouse 18 miles north of Brainerd with his brothers Alex and Jack and went there for two years. The family moved from Brainerd to International Falls, Minnesota and he began third grade. The next year the family moved to Little Fork, Minnesota where he completed his schooling with his brothers Alex, Jack, Bill and Bob.

During his teenage years Mike helped his family in a logging operation in Little Fork, Minnesota. After high school Mike went to work on the North Dakota Missile Sites as a laborer. In 1965 he moved with his family to Moses Lake, Washington and continued in construction. Mike spent several years working for Owens Corning Insulation in the Columbia Basin; Portland, Oregon; Nampa, Idaho; and other areas. 

During that time Mike enjoyed riding motorcycles, and particularly his Harley 74 Flathead. It was old but he was a good mechanic and kept it in tiptop shape. He often road it from Moses Lake to Portland. He never lost his love for motorcycles and had many stories to tell. From 1969 to 1970 he and his brother Jack rode motorcycles together in Portland where they worked welding baffles in the large barges that went up the Columbia River. That was a memorable time for them working and riding together and making memories.

Mike’s other love was for his first wife Diane (Jones). They married in 1971 and their only child, Glen, was born in 1972. His wife Diane preceded him in death and as did his son Glen. 

After Mike gave up construction work, he began raising hogs in Grant County and had as many as 2,000 hogs at one time. As a one-man operation, he was kept very busy. He cared for all animals and was particularly fond of small dogs

Mike later married his second wife, Linda, and they moved to Spokane where he resided until his death. His wife Linda also preceded him in death.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Patrick, Robert and Alex; his son Glen; and his wives Diane and Linda. He is survived by his brothers Jack (Patti) of Pomeroy, Washington; William (Betsy) of Monument, Colorado; and Carol (Alex’s wife) of Ephrata, Washington. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and families: Shannon, Nikki, Julie, Jeff, Jay and Leilani.

Mike loved life and God and knew Jesus as his Saviour. We will miss you but you are no longer in pain and if there is a Harley we know you will ride it on the streets of gold. It is well with your soul.
