Juanita 'Jan' Tarbell, 91
Coeur d'Alene Press | UPDATED 5 days, 12 hours AGO
Juanita “Jan” Tarbell of Hayden, Idaho, went home to be with Jesus on July 11, 2026, with her husband and daughters by her side. Jan was born April 25, 1935, in Torrington, Wyo. Jan was the daughter of Juanita and Lowell Qualls.
Jan married Garry Tarbell in Sanger, Calif., on April 22, 1973. They moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1998 to be near her children and grandchildren. She loved her family and animals of all kinds.
She and Garry enjoyed golfing and bowling together. She rarely missed the sporting events of her grandkids and eventually great-grandkids. She loved to be surrounded by family, especially while camping at the river in their vintage Silver Streak camper trailer. The great-grandkids would sneak over for bacon in the morning at the river. Grany was always ready for the next adventure, all dolled up with earrings to match any outfit.
Jan is survived by her husband and loving caregiver, Garry; daughter Karen Moglia and husband Leonard; daughter Cindy Merk and husband Don; son Mike Miller and wife Rene; grandchildren: Scott, Josh, Sean, Nikole, John, Kristi and Mary; Jan had 17 great-grandchildren that she adored! We were so blessed to share so many memories over the last 91 years, and she will be dearly missed by her family, friends and wonderful neighbors.
We are grateful to Pop (Garry) for the love and care he has given and allowed her to live her final years at home. Thank you to Schneidmiller Hospice House for such loving care in her final days. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to Hospice of North Idaho or the Schneidmiller Hospice House at www.hospiceofnorthidaho.org, or 2290 W. Prairie Ave. Coeur d’Alene, ID 83815.
Yates Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
