Christine Tucker, 73

Christine L. Tucker passed away on July 17, 2026, in Kalispell, at the age of 73. She was born June 25, 1953, in Lubbock, Texas, to Delbert and Floy (McBroom) Griffin, where Delbert was stationed with the Air Force. 

Chris grew up in Polson for most of her childhood, with time spent in Kalispell, Whitefish, and Fairbanks, Alaska. She graduated from Polson High School in 1973.

A couple of years after high school, Chris returned to Alaska to work on the Alaska Pipeline, where she worked at the Coldfoot camp in the mess hall. After her time in Coldfoot, Chris lived in Post Falls, Idaho, where she worked in a garment factory. Chris then returned to Alaska, moving to Anchorage and working in the print shop for Alaska Paint.

Chris met Thomas Tucker in Anchorage, and they were married Dec. 24, 1984. In 1986, their daughter, Stacy, was born. Their son, Lee, was born in 1988.

In 1991, the family moved to Kalispell to raise the children closer to family. Chris went back to work after the children were in high school, where she worked for Home Options as a home client aide until retirement in 2018. 

Chris loved to visit with family and friends. Every year, Chris and her close friends Karen and Jann would get together for their “Wild Women’s Weekend.” She would also meet up every week with a dear friend for coffee until Chris was no longer able to do so. Chris enjoyed reading, preferring fiction novels often purchased second-hand. 

Chris is survived by her husband, Thomas Tucker; her daughter, Stacy Wallace, her husband John-Michael and their children, Casey and Amelia; her son, Lee Tucker; her brothers, Steven Griffin and Nyle Griffin, and their respective families. 

 She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Griffin and her mother, Floy Baker.

In keeping with her wishes, her life will be celebrated privately by her family. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for the family.
