Wolverine Welcome Wagon ready to welcome students back to class
Superintendent Laurie Barron, Evergreen School District | Daily Inter-Lake | UPDATED 13 hours, 25 minutes AGO
As another exciting school year approaches, the Evergreen School District is looking forward to welcoming our students and families back for a year of learning, growth, and connection. We know that when schools, families, and the community work together, students thrive. Building strong relationships before the first day of school helps create a sense of belonging and ensures that every child begins the year feeling welcomed, supported, and ready to learn.
To help kick off the school year, the Wolverine Welcome Wagon will once again be traveling throughout the Evergreen community on Monday, Aug. 17 in the Evergreen School District bus. This annual tradition is one of the many ways we connect with families outside of our school buildings and celebrate the partnerships that make our community so special.
The Wolverine Welcome Wagon will make the following stops: Snappy's/Evergreen Chamber of Commerce: 12:15–12:45 p.m.; Sheriff's Posse: 12:50–1:20 p.m.; Evergreen Lions Park: 1:25–1:55 p.m.; and Evergreen School District Pavilion: 2–2:30 p.m.
At each stop, district staff will be outside the school bus to greet students and families, answer questions, and distribute free Icy Pops along with helpful back-to-school information packets. Families can pick up the district calendar, school supply lists, Student Experience Day information, support services resources, and other important materials to help prepare for a successful start to the school year.
We invite all Evergreen families and students to stop by, say hello, and reconnect with our school community. Whether you're joining us for the first time or returning for another school year, we're excited to welcome you.
Thank you to our outstanding community partners for helping make events like the Wolverine Welcome Wagon possible. Together, we can work to achieve our mission of enabling students to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners by ensuring quality instruction in a nurturing environment.
