James Kristian Eddie

James (Jamie) Kristian Eddie, 82, was born in Port Gamble, Washington in 1944 to James and Astrid Eddie. He was raised on the family farm in Kingston, Washington.  In 1962 he met Margaret (Mickey) Mongelluzzo while she was visiting the Kingston Church with a choir from Billings, Montana. There was an instant connection and they were married in October 1963 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  They made their home in Kingston where they raised four children and fostered numerous children. 

Jamie logged and worked for the road district. In 1975 he purchased a farm in Grant County and this became his passion. He worked a full-time job and farmed full-time yet still found time to spend with family and friends. For a few years, he moved the family to Montana to manage a sawmill for his uncle but his farm in Moses Lake called him back. 

As the family started to leave and start families of their own, Jamie and Mickey began to travel. They enjoyed seeing a lot of different places and loved when others could travel with them so they could experience it with friends and/or family. He also went on numerous church and medical missions but when asked what his favorite place was, he would always say Moses Lake.

He was a man of great faith and never missed an opportunity to serve the Lord and tell others about the love of Jesus. 

Jamie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mickey; children Denise Frueh (Dave), Robin Ashley (Rodrigo), Brian Eddie (Denise) and Crystal Batchelor (Rob); eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother David and sisters Janeel and Esther.  He is preceded in death by his parents James and Astrid. 

A service with a reception to follow will be held on July 31 at 1 p.m. at Generations Church, 431 E. Brown Ave., Moses Lake, Washington.
