Mason Kratz walked with the bases loaded and two outs to cut the deficit to 8-7, but West Valley claimed the state title as the tying run was tagged out trying to score on a wild pitch in the same at-bat in the deciding game of the best-of-3 state championship series at Croffoot Park in Hayden on Sunday
Donny Zins hit a two-run ground rule double to give West Valley an 8-5 lead in the top of the ninth.
Coeur d'Alene made it 8-6 on an RBI single by Tripp McLeod. Max Valliere was hit by a pitch and Jake Pernell singled to load the bases in the ninth for Coeur d'Alene.
West Valley won the first game on Friday 11-7 before Coeur d'Alene bounced win Saturday's Game 2 5-2.
This is the end of the road for the 11U teams.
