Whitefish community wildfire protection plan draft released for feedback

The city of Whitefish has contracted SWCA Environmental Consultants to work in collaboration with municipal, state, and federal land management agencies to develop the 2026 City of Whitefish Community Wildfire Protection Plan Update (CWPP).
A CWPP is designed to assist the city and property owners in mitigating wildfire risk by assessing at-risk areas and recommending measures to reduce those risks.
The city of Whitefish Draft Community Wildfire Protection Plan Update is available for public review from July 20 through Aug. 2. Community review is an important part of finalizing the plan and making sure it reflects local wildfire concerns, priorities and values at risk.
