Code Girls United hosts community discussion, 'Our Youth in the Age of AI'

Code Girls United announces "Our Youth in the Age of AI," an interactive reception and panel discussion on Thursday, August 27, at the O’Shaughnessy Cultural Arts Center in Whitefish, at 5 p.m. 

"This event serves as a platform for meaningful dialogue between a current industry leader and the students who will soon lead those same industries," said Marianne Smith, Code Girls United CEO. "By bringing these perspectives together, we hope to foster a community-wide understanding of AI's role in our children's education and future careers." 

The event begins with a reception and interactive showcase, followed by the discussion panel at 6 p.m. In a community-centered approach, the panel will address questions submitted by the public through the event’s ticket purchase link, ensuring the conversation reflects local interests and concerns regarding technology's future. 

Guests are invited to enjoy casual bites and beverages while exploring student-led display tables featuring the CGU AI Academy, CGU afterschool program and award-winning student apps. 

Attendees may also participate in a silent auction and purchase raffle tickets for prizes valued at up to $1,200. Event tickets are $20 and will be sold in advance only. Tickets can be purchased online at codegirlsunited.org/events. 

Founded in 2016, Code Girls United is a nonprofit organization providing free after-school programming for fourth to eighth-grade girls and tribal high school girls in Montana. Code Girls United’s mission is to expand the future career opportunities of girls in grades 4-8 through hands-on experiences in coding, technology, and business.
