Julia Craft, 98

Julia Genevieve Craft, 98, of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away July 7, 2026. Julia was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Kenneth C. Mann and Julia (Jennison) Mann. Julia moved around southern Idaho while growing up (Gooding, Rupert, Shoshone), graduating from Salmon High School in 1946 as valedictorian. She attended Idaho State College, earning a teaching degree. She taught sixth grade in Twin Falls, Idaho, for one year. She was also a substitute teacher in the Butte, Mont., Junior and Senior High Schools.

Julia married Charles E. Craft on June 3, 1950, in Salmon, Idaho. They lived in Idaho, Oregon, California, Montana, Missouri and Utah, with her last residence being Post Falls, Idaho.

Julia was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi for 77 years. Beta Sigma Phi is an international non-collegiate women’s sorority founded in 1931 in Abilene, Kan. Known globally as “The Friendship Organization,” it is dedicated to cultural enrichment, lifelong sisterhood and community service. The other organizations she was involved in were Girl Scouts of America, Welcomers’ Club, Community United Methodist Church, Christian Women Organization and her Bible Study Group.

Julia’s hobbies included reading (best loved mysteries), traveling (visited Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Greenland, Mexico, Canada), card games, bingo, crocheting — completing many afghans throughout the years.

Julia is survived by sons Fred Craft, Jim Craft; daughters Connie Cox, Nancy (Matt Ruedy) Craft; grandchildren Shirley Henderson, Cathy (Scott) Reichert; and great-grandchildren Ian and Jason Reichert.
