Kathleen Robertson, 86

Kathleen “Kathy” Robertson of Somers, Montana, passed away peacefully on June 29, at the age of 86. Born on April 18, 1940 in Billings, Montana, Kathy truly lived life on her own terms, always leading with passion, curiosity, and resilience. Kathy was a lifelong learner and deeply valued education. She graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in Political Science, and later received her master’s degree at the University of Michigan. 

She married David Robertson in 1958, and they shared 63 years of adventure together, living life to the fullest until his passing in September 2021. Kathy was an avid skier and passionate ski instructor for many years. She also loved to travel, hike, garden, and share her deep love of the outdoors with family and friends. Kathy also treasured her Friday afternoon card games with the ladies in Yellow Bay. One of the most cherished experiences of her life was working in Glacier National Park and taking outdoor classes there. Glacier was truly where her heart and soul felt most at home. It was a place she loved so deeply that she brought her children there every summer throughout their childhood, and later made sure her grandchildren were able to create those same special memories. 

Kathy lived life loudly and unapologetically, and will be remembered for her passion, her strength, and her strong will. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Lorraine, Michael, and Robyn, and her many grandchildren, and friends. A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at Johnson – Epworth United Methodist Church, 329 2nd Ave, Kalispell, MT on August 15, at 10:00 a.m.
