Michael Noordam, born May 7, 1978, in Silverton, Idaho, spent his early years in Mullan, where he graduated from Mullan High School. He later lived in Hayden, Idaho, for about 10 years. Michael passed away in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at a rehab hospital, after a hard battle with esophageal cancer.

He worked for many years as a waiter at Lincoln’s 50,000 Silver Dollar Bar and Restaurant in Haugan, Mont., where he made lasting friendships.

Michael loved being outdoors. Gardening — especially growing sunflowers and tomatoes — was one of his greatest joys. He also loved fishing and camping. His two cats, Jasper and Cheddar, were his constant companions.

He is survived by his loving family: his parents, Linda and Jerry Noordam, of Hayden, Idaho; his brothers, Eric Noordam of Mullan, Idaho, and Scott Noordam (Krista) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; his nephews, Parker, Carson and Garrett Noordam; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

Per his wishes and beliefs, there will be no funeral. A family gathering will be held at a later date.

Bell Tower Funeral Home has been entrusted with Michael's care.
