Patricia McEntire, 59

Patricia Noreen McEntire, 59, passed away July 2, in the cardiac intensive care unit at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. She was a cherished family member and friend, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Patty was born August 22, 1966, in Kalispell, to Danny and Diane McEntire of Whitefish. She grew up in the KM Ranch Road area with her brothers and neighborhood friends. Often riding her trikes and bikes until the rubber wore off the tires. Patty attended and graduated from the Whitefish school system and earned her AA degree from FVCC. School activities, especially band, occupied her time. Her church was also a priority. She loved the Lord and had dozens of Bibles and devotionals in her home. Patty worked at Christ Lutheran Church for several years as a secretary. In 2000, Patty began working in the payroll department at Semitool. She continued as a finance analyst in the company when it transitioned to Applied Materials.

Patty was devoted to her family and friends. Her cousins, aunts and uncles and especially grandparents had an everlasting connection with her. Schoolmates, co-workers, fellow parishioners, medical personnel and neighbors, she cared about each and every one. Children and animals were her real passion. Patty adored her niece and together they spent endless hours crafting, reading and playing school. An opportunity to babysit was never overlooked. No doubt if you knew Patty, you knew all about her dog, Lily. Her true companion was a source of pride, joy and comfort.

Patty loved life and was a warrior to the very end. She battled heart disease for eight years. Enduring many painful tests and procedures, she never complained. Her strong and loving spirit prevailed throughout all adversities.

Patty is survived by her mother, Diane and her brothers Wayne, and Tim and his daughter, Maria. Many additional family members also survive. She was preceded in death by her father, Danny McEntire. 

A service will be held July 31 at 1:00 p.m. at Buffalo Hills in Kalispell.
