Canopy Village fundraiser tops $350K

COEUR d'ALENE — Canopy Village Foundation welcomed 430 guests to its recent annual summer fundraising dinner held on the Canopy Village campus, raising more than $350,000 to provide crisis respite and emergency shelter services for vulnerable youth across North Idaho.

The evening celebrated the community's commitment to ensuring that children and families have a safe place to turn during times of crisis while recognizing the extraordinary generosity of longtime donor John Adams, owner of CDA Tractor, whose decades of faithful support have helped strengthen the organization's mission.

"For 40 years, this community has stood beside children when they needed hope the most," said Foundation Board President Marie Nail. "The generosity shown at this year's event ensures that youth facing abuse, neglect, homelessness or family crisis will continue to find safety, stability and compassionate care at Canopy Village."

Guests enjoyed dinner prepared by Chef Chris White, followed by desserts from Village Bakery. The evening featured stories of resilience and a tribute to Adams, whose quiet generosity became legendary through his consistent monthly support and unwavering belief in the mission.

The foundation also recognized the businesses whose leadership helped make the event possible. Numerica Credit Union served as the event's Title Sponsor, while Coeur d'Alene Honda & Powersports and Silverwood Theme Park were honored as Presenting Sponsors.

"Their partnership, along with the support of numerous additional sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community members, contributed to one of the organization's most successful fundraising events to date," a press release said.

Formerly known as Children's Village, Canopy Village has served North Idaho's children and families for more than four decades. Today, the organization provides emergency shelter, crisis respite, residential treatment and family support services, with programs designed to strengthen families and keep children safe.

Every dollar raised during the event directly supports these essential services, ensuring that children experiencing crisis have immediate access to safety, shelter and compassionate care when they need it most.

"Our mission has always been rooted in the belief that every child deserves to feel safe," Foundation Director Kristina Kenny added. "The incredible response from our community demonstrates that North Idaho shares that commitment. We are deeply grateful to every sponsor, volunteer, donor and guest who made this evening such an overwhelming success."
