Flathead Lakers potluck offers tools for discussing climate change
Lake County Leader | UPDATED 1 hour, 7 minutes AGO
The Flathead Lakers are hosting a Climate Conversation and Potluck on Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. at the organization’s office, 110 Main St., Suite B, in Polson.
August's Climate Conversation will be co-hosted with Families for a Livable Climate and will focus on building participants' confidence and skills for having productive conversations about climate change across differences.
The evening will explore why people often underestimate how many others share their concerns and, as a result, remain silent. Participants will discuss how these dynamics are playing out in communities across Montana and practice practical skills for navigating challenging conversations, staying connected across disagreement, recognizing signs of stress in themselves and others, and remaining grounded during difficult discussions.
These monthly Climate Conversations offer an informal opportunity to learn together, exchange ideas, build community, and explore meaningful local action on climate. Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend and a dish or finger food to share.
