An 18-year-old picked up a felony case in Flathead County District Court after allegedly trying to outrun Montana Highway Patrol in mid-July.  

Prosecutors charged Marley Damar Victor with felony aggravated fleeing from or eluding a peace officer and misdemeanor driving without a valid license following the July 19 pursuit on U.S. 2. Victor is expected to appear before Judge Dan Wilson for his arraignment on Aug. 20.  

Victor was behind the wheel of a white Lincoln Continental heading south on the highway about 11:18 p.m. at nearly 20 mph above the posted speed limit, according to court documents. A Montana Highway Patrol trooper headed in the opposite direction turned around to follow the sedan with lights flashing and sirens blaring after clocking Victor going 83 mph in a 65-mph zone, court documents said. 

Victor allegedly sped up and began changing lanes, nearly hitting another vehicle while trying to evade the trooper. During the chase, Victor hit speeds of 117 mph, court documents said.  

After about two minutes, Victor turned on the Lincoln's hazard lights and pulled over to the side of the highway, smoke emanating from the engine, according to court documents. Along with Victor, who was behind the wheel, the trooper found a minor inside the sedan. Neither wore seatbelts, court documents said.  

Looking around the vehicle, the trooper spotted an open container of brown liquor stuck into the pouch behind the front passenger seat, a pipe for smoking marijuana in the front passenger side door handle area and a glass bong on the front passenger side floorboard, according to court documents. 

During the investigation, the trooper determined that Victor had never possessed a driver's license, court documents said.  

If convicted of the felony, Victor faces up to five years behind bars and a fine of up to $5,000.
