SANDPOINT — While summer ball is just ending in North Idaho, it's never too early to begin thinking about where your athlete will be playing in 2027.

Luckily, several summer travel teams are hosting tryouts for their teams, ranging from 10U to 18U, next weekend.

Sandpoint Sasquatch

The Sandpoint Sasquatch, the region's travel baseball team, is hosting tryouts for all its teams next weekend. Tryouts for the Sasquatch's 16U and 18U teams kick off the weekend on July 31 at 5 p.m. at the Pine Street Fields, 1572 Pine St., in Sandpoint.

The next day of tryouts is Sunday, Aug. 2, with the festivities starting at 1:00 p.m. for the 10U and 12U teams. At 3 p.m., tryouts will begin for the Sasquatch's 11U and 13U teams. All four of these showcases will take place at Travers Park, 2016 Pine St, in Sandpoint.

Also, on Aug. 2, the Sasquatch will be looking for players for their 14U squad. That tryout will take place at the Pine Street Fields and start at noon.

To participate in the tryouts, the athlete must be registered via a Google Form. Those links can be found on the Sandpoint Sasquatch Facebook by visiting facebook.com/SandpointSasquatchBaseball.

The North

For the softball players in the region, The North Softball will be hosting a tryout this weekend. Those looking to join The North's 14U squad will get their chance on Saturday, Aug. 1 at Colt Field at Sandpoint Middle School, 310 S Division Ave.

The tryout will open with pitchers and catchers at 10 a.m. before the full team tryout begins at 11:30 a.m. and lasts until 1:30 p.m. Softball pants and socks are required to participate, according to The North's social media post.

Organizers ask that those wishing to participate show up at least 15 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork.

More information about The North can be found at their website, thenothsoftball.com, or on their social media pages, which can be found by searching for The North softball on Facebook.
