Theresa Kay "Teri" Thompson, 73, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Sandpoint with Pastor Jon Pomeroy officiating. A reception will follow at 926 Ruth Ave., Sandpoint.
Teri was born Dec. 22, 1952, in Miles City, Mont., to Leonard and Catherine Cridland. After completing elementary school, she moved with her family to Bozeman, Mont., where she attended Bozeman High School.
She married George Thompson in May 1974 and they later divorced in December 1984. When she arrived in Sandpoint, she worked at the local wood cut shops, Northern Lights, and spent 21 years bartending at the 219 Lounge, where she was appreciated for her friendly personality and ability to make people feel welcome. She later worked for Encoder until retiring because of health reasons.
Teri was an avid pool player and was very proud that her pool team qualified and played in a tournament in Las Vegas. She enjoyed camping, playing softball and watching crime shows. She especially valued spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered for her warmth, wit, and caring nature.
She is survived by her daughter, Crystal (Robert) Ferruggia of Rathdrum; her sisters, Debbie (Bill) Ervin of Spokane Valley, Alesia Cridland of Sandpoint, and Anita (Robert) Byers of Sandpoint; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Teri was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Edwin Cridland; nephew Lenny Byers; and her great-grandson, Dax Freeman.
