Judith Ilene Shelmerdine passed away peacefully at her family home on the evening of Sunday, June 28, surrounded by her loving family.
Judith Ilene McMillan was born in Libby, Montana on Oct. 28, 1950, to Roy and Bonnie McMillan.
She had a free spirit and loving heart that took her traveling many places with her late ex-husband Ronald Shelmerdine before settling back down on her McMillan family's home on the banks of the Kootenai River. Judith made a beautiful home for her children and grandchildren. It is covered with many glorious trees she planted for them to enjoy.
Wonderful, caring and kind, Judith was beautiful, encouraging, honest and true throughout. A gracious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and siste. She grew up in a large family where she enjoyed the Montana way of life. With siblings and friends - fishing, tree climbing, horseback riding and swimming in the river were some of her favorite things to do, often speaking of Howard Lake as a very special place for family.
Judith is survived by her son, Travis, and daughter, Rachel, as well as grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. My mother was the most loving, giving, brave, genuine mother a child could have been graced to have.
We will love her always. This too shall pass. She will remembered for her warmth, quiet strength and her devotion to her family.
She will be missed. We Love You.
