Memorial Center hosting Little Mermaid auditions Aug. 3

An audition will be held for the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) original adaptation of The Little Mermaid on Monday, Aug. 3 at the Libby Memorial Events Center from 10 a.m. to noon. 

Those auditioning should arrive at 9:45 a.m. and plan to stay for the full two hour audition time. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

Among the roles to be cast are the Little Mermaid, Celia, her three sisters, Delia, Amelia and Ophelia, Gil, the Merboy next door; the royal family including the Prince, the King and the Queen; the poetic Town Criers, dynamic Sea Scouts, snoopy Seasiders, the country singin’ Starfish and galloping Seahorses.

The production will be presented Friday, Aug. 7 at the Libby Memorial Events Center.

All students, ages kindergarten through 12th grade, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

The Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, and props. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm each day.

The third annual Missoula Children's Theatre Summer Residency is brought to you by the Kootenai Heritage Council with support from Lincoln County Unite for Youth.
