June 2, 1976 – SHS CEREMONIES TONIGHT
A total of 206 graduating students will receive diplomas at commencement exercises at Sandpoint High School tonight, after 86 received diplomas last night at Priest River and 15 at Clark Fork. Tonight’s program will begin in the gymnasium at 8 p.m. Speakers will be the valedictorian and salutatorian, Lisa Diehl and Lora Jasman, the principal Richard Sordorff and school board chairman Marian Ebbett.

BISHOP ELECTED
Russell Bishop of Coolin, has been elected president of Northern Lights, Inc. a large, tri-state rural electric system with headquarters in Sandpoint. Bishop has been a board member of Northern Lights for fifteen years and vice-president for eleven. He is a former State of Idaho legislator, former president of the Priest Lake Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Kaniksu National Forest Advisory Committee. He and his wife, Mona, owned and operated Bishop’s Marina at Coolin for many years. Elected as vice president was Arthur Jasman of Sagle and elected as secretary-treasurer was Ardley Burt of Selle.

DELLES ENLISTS
Stanley A. Delles, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael C. Delles, Sandpoint, has enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Delles, who attends the University of Idaho, will be earning credits toward a Career Education Certificate through the Community College of the Air Force while attending basic and other Air Force technical training schools.

June 2, 1951 – MODERN TOUCH IN OFFICE
The first indoor window box installed in a local business house was planted Friday by Miss Beth Atkinson of the Sandpoint House of Flowers. Part of a recent modernizing program for Mountain States Power offices, the flower box is the latest trend in softening interior decor. Plants used are sansevieria, dracaena and cut-leaf philodendron, repeated in order across the window.

NEWS FROM LACLEDE by Mrs. Earl Graves
Graduation exercises for the eighth grade class were Thursday night at the Grange hall. Receiving their diplomas were John Reeves, highest honors, and Gordon Rembowski, second. Others were Mary Lee, David Thompson and Larry Foote.
The three youngest children of the Chet Belwoods have the measles, as do two of the Reeves children.

CLARK FORK NEWS by Anna M. White
The village council plans to build a jail for local lawbreakers with two cells and two other rooms. The village for many years had no jail or police officer. An increasing population brings its new problems.
An event of the week was the marriage of Kathleen Jenness to John Best. The bride recently graduated from Clark Fork high school. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Best.
