The Lincoln County Commissioners approved allocating up to $2,500 to the clinic to help pay for costs associated with it after county Health Department Kathi Hooper made a request.

Spay Montana is a statewide, volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit, dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation through affordable and accessible spay and neuter services.

They work closely with local shelters, veterinarians and communities to make pet sterilization services widely available. In an effort to prevent unwanted litters and reduce shelter overcrowding.

At last year's clinic, 147 animals were served, including 84 cats and 63 dogs in spays and neuter procedures. There were several dozen more animals that received vaccines.

Volunteers at Kootenai Pets for Life are busy gathering and preparing supplies needed for the event. Preparation includes providing housing and meals for the veterinarians and techs. They will arrive Friday, June 19 and depart after surgery on Sunday, June 21. They arrive the day before the event to set up the surgery stations and be ready to start early the next morning.

If your pets are up to date please consider sponsoring a spay or neuter for someone that needs help. Donations are gladly accepted.
