LEGION BASEBALL: Davenport powers Lums past Prairie

POST FALLS — JD Davenport hit a two-run double to score Malcolm MacNiven and Evan Huss in the to top of the sixth inning, leading the Coeur d’Alene Lumbermen past the Prairie Cardinals 13-7 in a Class AA North Idaho League game at Post Falls High on Tuesday. 

Davenport had three hits and four RBIs for Coeur d’Alene (3-1, 1-1 NIL). Aven Adams, Rylan Anstine and Logan Strimback had two RBIs each for the Lumbermen. 

Prairie (5-3) loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the fourth inning, eventually cutting the deficit to 5-3 on bases loaded walk to Isaiah Kearney. The Cardinals drew 13 walks in the game. 

Coeur d’Alene hosts USA Prime INW at Thorco Field on Thursday. 

Prairie hosts the Spokane Bandits next Monday at Post Falls High.
