SANDPOINT — A pair of local groups have been named 2026 Idaho Future Fund grant recipients, according to an announcement by the Idaho Community Foundation. This year, the fund will award $293,758 to 27 nonprofits, schools and community organizations working to strengthen educational opportunities for Idaho children and youth.

Established by an anonymous couple in Blaine County, the Idaho Future Fund supports projects that help students learn, grow, and thrive from preschool through 12th grade.

“These grants help organizations meet real needs in their communities, from preschool access and literacy support to afterschool learning and summer enrichment,” said Kent Fogg, director of impact at the Idaho Community Foundation. “By investing in these local efforts, the Idaho Future Fund helps trusted partners advance their missions and create more opportunities for Idaho students to succeed.”

Receiving grants in Bonner County were Kaniksu Land Trust, Inc., which received $5,000 for summer camp scholarships, literacy programming, and meals for youth; and the Priest Lake Community Education Foundation, Inc., which received $10,000 for free preschool and kindergarten readiness classes.

The grants were among $70,758 received for the North Region, which includes Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai, Shoshone and Benewah counties.

For nearly 40 years, the Idaho Community Foundation has helped Idahoans invest in the people, places, and causes they care about. Through ICF's statewide programs, including The Nonprofit Center and Idaho Gives, the foundation strengthen communities by growing philanthropy, elevating nonprofit impact, and connecting Idahoans to opportunities to give back.
