Shannon May (Foote) Julkowski
Born on Oct. 27, 1971. Passed away May 22, 2026.
Shannon was born and raised in Priest River, Idaho. After college and some travel adventures, she chose to live her life local!
She was all about her family, friends and community. She went to games and sporting events for nieces and nephews, cousins and even for kids that needed a special someone there to watch and cheer them on! She gathered supplies to build backpacks and bags of essentials for students that would need them at the beginning of the school year. She donated clothes to the women's shelter and gave to animals in need. She didn't need people to know that she did these things, but she wanted to know that they were done.
Shannon was a quiet presence in the lives of countless people and never knew a stranger. She was a social butterfly throughout school and honed her people skills in her years at Priest River Times, Zippy's and most recently Super One. She also spent years volunteering for Bonner County Elections. Shannon literally knew everyone! She was a constant support to her family and friends. A voice of wisdom and great suggestions but also full of sassiness and mischief! Shannon was the best listener and she cared.
Shannon was a community builder. She was front and center for car shows and Relay for Life functions. A quiet voice in the lives of children to help get them interested in reading. She had a gift for finding books of all genres that kids loved! That same gift led her to yard sales, thrift and vintage stores of all kinds in several neighboring states! She had an eye for special antiques and things that she and others were collecting. No treasure got by her! She would load them into her trusty PT Cruiser (of 24 years) and continue to the next stop!
In recent years, she had begun gathering ties to wear to work. She had so much fun looking and others had fun finding them for her as well. She was a louder voice for animals in need. She supported the local animal shelter and went as far as adopting a kitty to take home. Shannon was so excited last year when she caught a stray bunny that had been in her neighborhood. She loved visiting a local sanctuary and cared deeply for the critters she considered her own.
She loved visiting over coffee, especially during the fall season. She was eager to learn and try new things. Her husband introduced her to the game of cribbage, and she loved when she could beat him! She loved scrapbooking and crafting, and painting with watercolors, which was a newer hobby.
Most importantly, Shannon loved the life she lived. She was happily married. She was devoted to her family. She adored her friends, co-workers and community.
Shannon is survived by her husband, Timothy; her parents, Cathy and Larry Foote; and her sisters, Cheryl (Tony) Domer, Terri (Richard) Johnson, and Crystal (Jay) Huff; and also many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be well remembered and missed always.
