One of two Lake County men, convicted for crimes relating to the death of Ed Loder, 67, was sentenced to the Montana State Prison for a total of 20 years with none of that time suspended.
Jonathan Micheal Drennan-Beck, 31, was sentenced in Polson District Court May 28 by Judge John Mercer.
Drennan-Beck pled guilty on April 9 to two counts of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence for deleting information from an electronic device. The plea was entered as part of an agreement that came with a joint recommendation of 10 years in the Montana State Prison on each of the tampering charges and dismisses another count of tampering and one count of deliberate homicide by accountability.
He was given credit for having already served 389 days in jail.
James Lawrence, 71, pled guilty on April 22 to deliberate homicide in the death of Loder, as well as tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. His sentencing is tentatively set for June 12.
Loder was reported missing Sept. 4, 2024, from his Ronan residence and his body was recovered Sept. 6 near St. Ignatius with help from Lawrence, who shot him in an apparent dispute over an inheritance.
