KNPS hosting annual native plant sale
Bonner County Daily Bee | UPDATED 1 month AGO
Native plants will be on display and for sale Saturday, June 6, at the annual Kinnikinnick Native Plant Society's popular Native Plant Sale.
Sales will begin at 9 a.m. sharp, ending at noon or when the inventory is gone. Plants go fast at this eagerly anticipated event where early attenders get the best pick. Experienced native plant gardeners will be on hand to help in choosing the best plants for specific garden conditions.
A wide variety of native trees, shrubs and perennials grown by Cedar Mountain Perennials, a native plant nursery located in Athol, are the main feature of this fundraising event. But there are other attractions as well. A selection of fun and funky garden art and KNPS publications will also be on sale, plus baked goodies with coffee by donation.
The Mighty Monarchs will provide native milkweed seeds and planting information to attract monarch butterflies to home gardens, and Master Naturalists will sell their hand-crafted bird and native bee houses. June 6 is also the Bonner County History Museum's First Saturday with free admission to all their engaging exhibits and special kids' Hands on History activities.
The plants and yard art will be displayed between the museum parking lot and the museum building, 611 S Ella Ave., in Lakeview Park, Sandpoint. The activity is co-sponsored by the city of Sandpoint.
